About, sources and privacy

PassMoose is a free, independent study resource for people preparing for Canadian tests. It is run by an individual, not a company or a government.

Not a government website

PassMoose is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the Government of Canada, ICBC, or any other government or organization named on this site. We name these organizations only to describe the tests we help you prepare for.

We do not use any government logos, coats of arms or official symbols.

Where our content comes from

Our study notes, practice questions and explanations are written by us, in our own words, based on public information. We do not copy text, images or audio from official guides.

For the citizenship test, our material is based on the official study guide, Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship, published free by IRCC. Each chapter links to the section of the guide it summarizes.

IRCC says the only official study guide is Discover Canada, and that the test questions are based on it. Our practice questions are not the real test questions, which are not public. For official information about the test, see IRCC's citizenship test page.

No guarantee

We work hard to keep our content accurate and check it against official sources. But mistakes can happen, and official rules and guides can change. Practising here does not guarantee that you will pass any test. Always study the official guide and check official websites for the latest information.

Privacy

  • You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name or email.
  • Your quiz progress and settings (theme, text size) are saved only in your own browser, on your device. We can't see them. Clearing your browser data erases them.
  • We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
  • Audio narration uses your device's built-in voice; nothing is sent to us.

If this ever changes, for example if we add payments or analytics, we will update this page first.

Terms of use

  • You're welcome to use PassMoose for your own study, for free.
  • Please don't copy our notes or questions to sell or republish them.
  • Content is provided "as is", for learning purposes only, and is not legal or immigration advice.
